To response the increasing demand on route between Nairobi and Mobasa, Kenya Airways has announced that it will increase flight from 27 to 58 a week. 250 seats of B767-300ERs are operating the service.
The airline also launched three weekly flights to Gaborone, Botswana on 3 September. It brings the airline’s number of African destinations to 35.
Air Zimbabwe announced fuel surcharges increasing. Effect from 19 June, all sectors of flight will be increased to: domestic from $20-$30; regional from $50-$60, Dubai and London flight from $90-$100. Singapore and Beijing flight will be remaining unchanged at $150 and $160.
Airlink will launch additional direct flights from Johannesburg to Lusaka, Harare and Beira on Saturdays from 4 July.
The services time tables will be:
Harare: Departing from Johannesburg at 0830 and arriving at 1025; Return at 1100 and arriving Johannesburg at 1250
Lusaka: Daparting from Johannesburg at 0720 and arriving at 0915; Return at 0945 and arriving Johannesburg at 1155
Beira: Daparting from Johannesburg at 1225 and arriving at 1405; Return at 0945 and arriving Johannesburg at 1155

SAA has reduced its fuel surcharges on some routes from 7 June, details are as follows:
• Surcharges between will be US$145 for economy-class, US$185 for premium passengers fly between Washington/New York and Cape Town via JNB.
• Surcharges will be US$40 for economy class, US$80 for premium passengers between Johannesburg and Dubai.
• Surcharges will be US$26 from Cairo, and US$60 to Cairo in all classes.
• Codeshare flights between Hong Kong, Japan’s Narita Airport and Kansai International Airport will no longer have a surcharge.
Arik Air from Nigeria Starts services between Lagos and Johannesburg from 1 June. The daily flights is departing from Lagos Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 21h35 local time, and arriving at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport at 04h50 the following morning. The return flight is departing Johannesburg afternoon at 13h45 local time, arriving back in Lagos at 19h00 on the same day. The airline is using a newly acquired Airbus A340-500 aircraft, which equipped two-class, 36 seats in Premier business class and 201 seats in economy class cabin.
